I’ve always been drawn to visual puzzles and enjoy artwork which confuses the eyes and teases the brain. Even from early childhood, the wonderfully intriguing and stimulating Escher drawings with their never-ending staircases or myriad of black and white birds flying in opposite directions would capture my imagination and make me think.

‘Linear Perspective’ is one such ‘visual puzzle’ which I had enormous fun creating. With a nod to Escher, I wanted to play with changing perspectives and make the viewer question what they were interpreting. I love the way the lines will suddenly ‘pop’ in and out – sometimes you feel as if you’re looking into a corner and then suddenly the opposite is true and you’re observing an outer edge. It’s as if the triptych is in constant flux as your eyes scan up and down.

Many of Escher’s drawings are in black and white, so I too chose a minimalist colour palette to emphasise the strong contrasts and accentuate the angular shape and design.

ADD The finishing touch…

I’m very flexible around sizing and print substrates, and am more than happy to discuss how we create a unique look for your project.

__CONFIG_colors_palette__{“active_palette”:0,”config”:{“colors”:{“62516”:{“name”:”Main Accent”,”parent”:-1}},”gradients”:[]},”palettes”:[{“name”:”Default Palette”,”value”:{“colors”:{“62516”:{“val”:”var(–tcb-skin-color-0)”}},”gradients”:[]}}]}__CONFIG_colors_palette__ Start the Conversation

Click on picture to enter gallery and view full sized images

Images displayed on this page use the Limited Edition format.
